Help with my Toshiba laptop? PLEASEEEE!!?

The other night I was using my toshiba laptop and it started coming up with all these warnings about viruses! It kept saying there was a hard drive failure and switched itself off. I've restarted it and in hope to restore all my documents (some are really important) I started it with Safe mode with prompting, or something and I've logged in but it comes up with a black screen that has 'safe mode' in each corner and a box with writing in it, like C:/windows/system32>... and now I have no clue what to do :/ PLEASE, if anyone knows anything helpp me, I'll appreciate it sooooo much
