Can i take four aleve (bottle says don't exceed 3 in 24 hour period)?

i take aleve for extremely painful menstrual cramps...as in i literally cannot walk for the first day, not being dramatic. i took two around 2 pm and one at 6 pm..would it be okay if i took one now (12am) even though it says not to exceed? how serious are those warnings?
